Guitar Artist Spotlight: Shirley Palmer

Just like the music it produces, there are a wide range of art on guitar styles. This month, we’d like to showcase the work of Shirley Palmer.

As a child, she played first chair clarinet for the All -City Band Portland, OR. While Shirley says those days are long gone, she still draws on those early childhood musical experiences for inspiration.

For Shirley, the artistic process may take several months from inspiration to creating a finished piece.

“It takes awhile for inspiration to strike which can be a bit frustrating.” Shirley states. “I’ll usually prop a guitar up in the living room and stare at it until an idea comes. Once it does, the process happens pretty quickly.”

Shirley’s pieces are available for purchase. For more information, please contact Sunday Guitars
