New Gear Spotlight: ESP Guitars

Recently you may have noticed some new names on our guitar wall. One that we are absolutely stoked about is ESP/LTD Guitars. New to Sunday Guitars, ESP has a rich heritage throughout the guitar world and have been played by some of the biggest names rock, metal and progressive music have to offer.

Hisatake Shibuya created the Electric Sound Products (ESP) company 46 years ago, in Tokyo, Japan. However, it was another 8-10 years before the brand became well known and distributed through out the U.S. and other countries. From the mid 80’s to the early 90’s ESP was known as a high end replacement part company for Fender, Gibson and other guitars, not to mention they had an incredible custom guitar factory in Japan that pumped out a good amount of signature models for players such as; George Lynch, Vernon Reid, KISS, Ronnie Wood, and later on James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, and Brian “Head” Welch to mention a few. In the mid 90’s they introduced the LTD line of guitars, opened a U.S. Headquarters in Los Angles to support the main headquarters located in Tokyo, Japan, and also started manufacturing more affordable models in Korea.

Since then, ESP Guitars has come to be known as one of the world’s premier rock/metal guitar companies, but don’t let the “metal” genre scare you off! There is something for everybody in ESP’s line up. From the PS1000 to the TL6 and the EX200 to the BK600, ESP has a guitar that is a perfect fit for you.
