Western Red Cedar is a softer wood that has great warmth. Because of the warmth of cedar, it pairs very well with the human voice and is great for singer/songwriters. Cedar naturally amplifies quieter playing styles and is a favorite of fingerpickers.
The range is a body that is unique to Teton guitars. We took our Jumbo (which is unique for a jumbo) and made a mini version of it. We call the Range our “Mini-jumbo” guitar. It is a 3/4 guitar that was built to sound like any other full size guitar. We accomplish this by having solid tops and arched backs on all Range guitars. Together, these elements produce a loud, full sound. The Range is built to be a traveling guitar, but it quickly became a favorite of Teton fans from child to teen to adult and encompassing all playing styles.
